Wildlife Rescue’s Raptor/Kite shelter is located on the rooftop of the house of the founder trustees of the organisation, Nadeem and Saud-which is located in Old Delhi’s Chawri Bazar area.
The shelter has provisions for water, drainage facilities and a shed.
The roof has an 8 feet high fencing and half of the roof is left uncovered for the birds, so that they can fly off after recovery.
We have observed that after the young recuperating birds get strength in their wings the young ones fly off from the aviary but continue to return back at the time of food and in the night for shelter till they comfortable adapt and settle in the wild.
At the lower floor, we stock our medicines and have an operation table on which we do the surgeries like suturing the wounds, implants, dressing and cleaning of the wounds and other miscellaneous works.
